My name is Tara Phoenix. I have been sick all my life. Something has been wrong. When I was a kid, I remember being at camp and choosing not to go on a hike because I thought I could not walk that far. I was often ready to pass out on hot days. I did not have enough energy. I was plagued with poor health when I was a kid: ear infections, throat infections, sinus infections, stomach problems, injuries, sciatica, and memory problems. I am the eldest of three daughters--cold miner granddaughters. Our parents and grandparents had rough lives. Perhaps knowingly or unknowingly that pain had been passed around. Chronic childhood trauma was a way of life for generations, including mine. Fast forward to 2007, the diagnosis became fibromyalgia. What does that mean? Pain in muscles. This seems like doctors named it and promptly gave up on finding the root cause. I was prescribed numbing drugs to deal with my symptoms. However, these pills never really got to the root cause of the pain and had awful side effects that made me feel like a zombie. Fast forward again to 2018, I became my own lead healer. Perhaps there are those that think I am unqualified since I lack the credentials behind my name. However, I am an expert in something the doctors rarely consider--how it feels to be inside my body. I decided to get off all pills and devote myself to natural healing. Two years came and went. I dedicated myself full-time to learning all things' medicine woman. I became more versed in natural healing modalities and tools that were integrated with the body, mind, soul and spirit. I turned my life into a living laboratory, experimenting on myself. When COVID arrived, I canceled all other outside treatments. I relied even more on myself and my own intuition. The internet helped. I found a nutritionist who uses high does thiamine therapy with a keto diet. I started following that and along with everything else I was doing for myself. I finally started seeing improvements with my own bare eyes. Having fibromyalgia hurts and healing fibromyalgia hurts. Still and all, my body was softening more and more each day. I decided to use a body softness level as my measure of improvement, instead of a measurement of pain. As I reveal more of my true self day by day, I know I am here on Earth to serve.
